Our Staff Sekayi Malek, MOT, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Sekayi Malek, MOT, OTR/L is originally from Boise, Idaho where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boise State University. She moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to obtain her graduate education at Temple University, where she received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy. Sekayi has worked in a variety of pediatric settings including, outpatient clinics, home health, and the Philadelphia public school system.  She was also an intern with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) Homeless Health Initiative (HHI). Throughout her journey to become an Occupational Therapist, she’s worked as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, and Hospice Home Health CNA. She has worked in all populations including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Sekayi is an experienced feeding therapist, certified in Reiki as an alternative modality, and is specialized in working with children with, trauma, Autism, and other neuro-related disabilities. She is passionate about child advocacy, resource accessibility, and cultural sensitivity.

Sekayi is an adoptive mother, foster parent, animal lover, and adventure seeker. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, painting, and gardening. She has two dogs, a cat, a worm farm, 50 houseplants, and a super cool little boy.
